Obstetrical Outcomes Program

"Improving the quality of patient care & health outcomes through research & education."

Since 1995, The Woman’s Hospital of Texas (WHT) has supported the Foundation’s Obstetrical Outcomes Program. The Foundation maintains a database of clinical information about the pregnancy experience of over 10,000 women at WHT and the KSC Obstetrics Department. The Foundation provides physicians at these two institutions with monthly and annual reports describing the maternal and infant outcomes of their patients. This information is used to monitor and improve health outcomes of these patients. Another program component is the High-Risk Registry, which is used to track the needs of obstetrical patients with special problems. The OB Outcomes Program also works closely with the OB Department at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic to develop patient education materials on pre-conception care, pregnancy health guidelines, and postpartum depression. Program findings are presented annually at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology Conference.
