Health Services & Outcomes Research Program
"Improving the quality of patient care & health outcomes through research & education."
KRF collaborates with healthcare and research institutions in the Texas Medical Center on health services and outcomes research studies. These institutions include Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, The University of Texas School of Public Health, and the VA Medical Center. Our current projects focus on smoking cessation, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, screening for colorectal cancer, adolescent health behaviors, stroke prevention, anxiety, depression, asthma, cancer, heart failure, diabetes, epilepsy, and hepatitis C. KRF maintains a database of funding opportunities in outcomes and health services research. We can also help link researchers in the local community with collaborative initiatives.
KRF coordinates the Research and Education Committee for KSC. Committee members review proposals for scientific merit and to ensure that time and effort required by KSC and/or KRF staff is appropriate to the mission and vision of these organizations.
