The Foundation is supported by generous contributions of current and former patients of the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, local foundations committed to improving health care and by individuals and companies concerned with improved health care delivery in the Houston area. Your support is crucial to our continued success in medical research and education. Please join us in expanding our mission. Your tax-deductible contribution can be directed to specific programs of the Foundation, operational support or for the endowment fund. Elihu N. Root, M.D. Memorial Fund
to Support Patient Care
For almost four decades, Dr. Elihu Root was a distinguished member of Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and for many years served as Chief of the Hematology/Oncology Department. His specialty was the treatment of breast and colorectal cancers, as well as the early detection of cancer. Through the Kelsey Research Foundation, he acted as principal investigator on major clinical research studies for the treatment of breast and colorectal cancer and was a dedicated member of the Kelsey-Seybold Cancer Committee. His devotion to the Kelsey-Seybold tradition of excellence in oncology and cancer care earned him a place of honor in his field and the admiration of both staff and patients.
Dr. Root was a remarkable man: outstanding in his profession, compassionate and caring to all whose lives he touched. His generous spirit continues to inspire all of us at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and the Kelsey Research Foundation.
The Elihu N. Root, M.D. Memorial Fund was established to promote the life-saving benefits of early detection and to encourage patients with breast and other cancers through support groups, health lectures and patient education materials.
