The Kelsey Research Foundation is hosting the 6th Annual Health Services and Outcomes Research Conference on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate
School of Management, Rice University, in Houston, Texas. The conference will feature presentations, workshops and posters on:
The Business Case for Quality Improvement in Healthcare
The Conference objectives are to:

Provide an overview of the key components of quality of care (e.g., effectiveness, efficiency, equity, patient safety, timeliness of care, and patient-centered care).

Foster collaborative health services research projects among research and medical care institutions in Texas.

Demonstrate the application of health services research findings in clinical practice and community settings.
The Kelsey Research Foundation invites all individuals with an interest in innovative research on health care to submit abstracts for poster presentation. Poster presentations will focus on the six major components of quality of care:
Effectiveness, Efficiency, Equity, Patient Safety, Timeliness of Care, and Patient-Centered Care
Abstract selection criteria include the research studyís quality and relevance to the topic areas. Authors will be notified of the committeeís decision by October 3, 2005. Presenters will be required to accompany their poster for one hour during the conference. A committee will review the poster presentations during the meeting and award the best posters in each of the topic areas.

Organize the abstract by objectives, methods, results, and conclusions

Limit the abstract to no more than 250 words

Type the abstract double-spaced with 11-point font or larger
